Keeper (pictured above at eight weeks on the left and about six months on the right) moved to North Carolina at 10 weeks old to live with his new mom, Mary Baker.  He did well in his beginning obedience classes and started training for the show ring.  Keeper came back to Kalwa for a visit in August 2004 where he made a trip to the Minnesota specialties.  He made a good showing there, winning his sweeps and regular classes. 

Keeper returned home to North Carolina, where he continued in his obedience training and preparations for the show ring.  Sadly, in early December 2004, Keeper escaped from his yard while Mary was away from home along with one of Mary's other dogs, Magic.  Both Keeper and Magic were hit by a car and Keeper was killed.  Fortunately Magic survived.

Keeper was a wonderful puppy, full of fun and love for everyone he met.  He is sorely missed by Mary, those of us at Kalwa, and everyone who knew him.  Although he's gone, he will never be forgotten.
