Week One

The puppies made a dramatic appearance into the world on 2/6/06.  After one puppy and a long labor that hadn't produced a second, we bundled everyone up and headed off on the 45-minute drive to the vet.   On the way, puppy number two was delivered in the car about ten minutes from the vet's office.  She was followed immediately by puppy number three, who was born in the parking lot of the vet clinic.  After a vet exam that found no problems and a shot to keep things moving along, we headed back home with mom and babies.  We hadn't even gotten out of the parking lot when puppy number four arrived, followed six minutes later by puppy five.  Harmony then took a break for a couple hours, and puppies six and seven arrived at home.  All-in-all, a total of four of the seven pups were born in the car.  Quite an adventure.  Following their exciting arrival, babies and mom have all settled in and are doing nicely.
